Saltwater Pro Series 3 Hook Match Rig

Overview

The Dennett Saltwater Pro Series 3 Hook Match Rig is a pre-tied sea fishing rig designed to give shore and match anglers three independent bait presentations on a single trace. It comes from Dennett's established Saltwater Pro / Pro Series range, with the current generation specifically updated to feature fluorocarbon snoods rather than standard monofilament.

The rig is verified in two hook-size variants, Size 2 (TS-PRO1602) and Size 1/0 (TS-PRO1610). The Size 2 version is documented with a 60lb main line and 20lb fluorocarbon hook lengths, giving the rig a strong central body capable of handling rough ground and bigger fish while still presenting a fine enough snood to fool bites.

Each rig arrives supplied as one complete, ready-tied unit, so there's no need to tie your own traces at the water's edge. This makes it a convenient option for anglers who want a reliable, consistent rig straight out of the packet.

Perfect For

With three hooks on one trace, this rig is well suited to competition and general shore fishing, where presenting different baits or bait sizes simultaneously helps locate feeding fish more quickly. The Size 1/0 version's listing specifically references coalfish, plaice and flounder as target species, fished with mackerel, ragworm and squid.

This makes the Saltwater Pro Series 3 Hook Match Rig a practical choice for match anglers working mixed marks, or shore anglers wanting to cover several bait options at once without re-rigging between casts.

Technical Insight

The switch to fluorocarbon snoods on the current Pro Series is a meaningful design detail — fluorocarbon is typically chosen for its lower visibility underwater compared to standard mono, which can be an advantage when targeting cautious species like flounder or plaice on finer hook lengths. Pairing a robust 60lb main line with 20lb snoods on the Size 2 version balances overall rig strength against a presentation fine enough to still draw bites.

The Size 1/0 version is separately verified with a 20lb (9.1kg) hook-length rating and an overall rig length of 125cm (49.2in), giving anglers a clear spec to work from when matching the rig to their target species and tackle setup.
