Overview

The Xorus Patchinko II is a floating surface lure developed specifically for sea bass fishing, combining long-casting performance with an easy-to-control walk-the-dog action.

One of the most established topwater lures among UK bass anglers, the Patchinko II has a streamlined, tail-weighted body paired with internal rattles and an angled nose that disturbs the surface on every retrieve.

It comes fitted with two Decoy saltwater treble hooks, and its nominal 140mm length makes it a recognisable fixture in UK bass-lure boxes.

Perfect For

The Patchinko II's tail-weighted design and streamlined body give it genuine casting distance, making it a strong choice for open beaches, exposed rocky coastlines and other marks where covering water matters.

It's also well suited to shallow bays, reef edges, rocky gullies and suitable estuary stretches, where a floating lure can be worked over snags that would catch a deeper-diving plug.

The lure comes into its own when bass are hunting baitfish close to the surface, letting anglers search a wide area of water without losing contact with the lure.

Technical Insight

The body balance, angled nose and line attachment position combine to produce movement even on a straightforward retrieve, while short, rhythmic twitches of the rod tip generate a more pronounced walk-the-dog glide or surface-skating action depending on retrieve speed.

Internal rattles add an audible dimension to the lure's surface disturbance, helping draw attention from bass feeding near the surface.
