The Varivas Big Mouth Extra Hooks are a heavy-duty sea-fishing bait hook pattern engineered for presenting substantial baits and standing up to hard-fighting fish. Each hook is forged, giving the wire added rigidity and resistance to opening under heavy load compared with a standard round-wire hook.

The pattern combines a short, compact shank with a noticeably wide gape, creating a hook that's both strong and well suited to bulky bait presentations. An in-turned eye and Varivas's own Cutting Point complete the design, with the finished hook supplied in a black finish.

Available across six sizes from 1/0 through to 6/0, the Big Mouth Extra range is built to cover everything from lighter bait presentations up to substantial offerings for serious sea fishing. Pack quantities vary by size, running from eight hooks in the smaller 1/0 and 2/0 sizes down to five hooks in the larger 5/0 and 6/0 sizes.

Forging compresses part of the hook wire, increasing rigidity and resistance to opening compared with an equivalent round-wire section, which is exactly what's needed when bait size and fish power put real strain on the hook.
