Fladen Norden Casting / Pirk Lure200g - 150mm

Overview

Overview

The Fladen Norden 200g is a traditional metal sea fishing pirk designed for boat anglers working offshore marks with vertical jigging techniques. Measuring 150mm in length, this pirk is manufactured from non-toxic zinc rather than conventional lead, giving it a substantial, robust body without the toxicity concerns of older lead pirks.

The classic pirk profile is shaped to produce an attractive fluttering action as it's lifted and dropped through the water column, making it a reliable searching lure for predatory sea species. It's part of Fladen's wider Norden range of casting and pirk lures aimed at boat and wreck anglers.

Perfect For

The Norden 200g is particularly suited to vertical jigging from a boat, where anglers lower the lure towards the seabed before working it back up with a series of lifts and drops. It's a strong choice for wreck fishing and other offshore marks where cod, ling and pollack are the target species.

Its 200g weight makes it useful in deeper water or where tidal flow is strong enough to sweep a lighter pirk out of the strike zone, though the right weight for the day always depends on depth, tide and the tackle being used. It is primarily designed as a boat lure rather than for shore casting.

Technical Insight

Choosing zinc over lead gives the Norden a dense, substantial feel while avoiding the environmental drawbacks associated with traditional lead pirks. Combined with the 150mm profile, this allows the lure to sink through the water column and hold depth against tide, while still producing the side-to-side flutter anglers look for during a lift-and-drop retrieve.

The Norden is available in several confirmed colour finishes - including Silver, Black Flash, Blue Flash, Lime Green with Black Dots, Blue/Silver/Green with Black Dots, and Yellow/Red - giving anglers the flexibility to match presentation to water clarity, light levels and personal preference on the day.
