The Kamasan B983 Wide Gape Specialist is a fine-wire hook built around a compact wide-gape profile, originally a specialist pattern that now finds a niche among sea anglers fishing lighter presentations. It's constructed from fine 110-grade high-carbon wire, which gives the hook a relatively light profile while retaining considerable strength for its gauge.

Each hook features a curved, chemically sharpened needle point for efficient penetration, paired with a whisker barb (sometimes described as a micro-style barb) to help retain fish once hooked. The angled eye and eyed hook construction round out a well-specified pattern.

The B983 is supplied in packs of 10 and spans seven sizes, from 4 through to 16, giving anglers a good range to match hook size to bait and target species.
