Mepps Comet Decoree – Size 00 - 1.5g

Overview

The Mepps Comet Decoree Size 00 is an ultra-compact inline spinner weighing just 1.5g, making it the smallest model currently available in the UK Comet Decoree range.

It's built around the distinctive Comet blade, which rotates at approximately 45 degrees rather than spinning in a constant circular motion. This creates a flashing, fluttering action designed to mimic an irregular, distressed baitfish rather than a simple spinning lure.

Despite its tiny size, the lure is fitted with a treble hook and supplied as a single lure per pack, with genuine Mepps Copper/Blue Dot and Copper/Red Dot colourways verified under their own supplier codes.

Perfect For

At 1.5g, the Comet Decoree Size 00 is designed to be fished on genuinely ultralight tackle rather than standard bass spinning gear. It suits anglers looking to downsize for finicky or small predatory species that won't respond to bulkier lures.

For sea anglers, this makes it a natural fit for LRF and ultralight lure fishing in close-range marks such as harbour walls, pontoons and sheltered rock edges, where a small, flashy, erratic presentation can draw interest from small predators holding tight to structure.

Technical Insight

The Comet blade's approximately 45-degree rotation is the key to this lure's action. Rather than spinning uniformly, the blade produces an irregular flash and vibration pattern intended to imitate vulnerable, fleeing prey rather than a steady, predictable retrieve.

This combination of small size, distinctive blade geometry and a fitted treble hook allows the Size 00 to punch above its weight in terms of visual and vibrational attraction, despite being the smallest spinner in the current Comet Decoree lineup.
