Overview

The Z-Man Fuzzy BugZ is a micro-finesse soft lure built around a 1.75-inch segmented ElaZtech body, introduced for the 2026 season. Rather than imitating a conventional baitfish, it's designed to represent small invertebrate prey such as zooplankton, insects and crayfish.

The body is manufactured from Z-Man's 10X Tough ElaZtech material, prized for exceptional durability combined with lifelike buoyancy. Surrounding the segmented invertebrate-profile body are numerous hand-threaded premium silicone strands, colour coordinated to each pattern, which quiver and move with very little input from the angler.

A clever design touch is the narrowed centre section, which allows the lure to be cut in half to create two tiny finesse baits from one Fuzzy BugZ - meaning a single 4-pack could theoretically yield eight micro sections. Eight pro-selected colours are available, and each pack contains 4 lures with no hook or jighead included.

Z-Man primarily markets the Fuzzy BugZ for freshwater bass fishing in the US, officially recommending it for Ned Rig, Neko Rig, dropshot and weighted wacky presentations, and it's fully compatible with Finesse ShroomZ jigheads and Rattle-Snaker Tungsten SpikeZ.

As BLUFIN's own practical interpretation for UK saltwater fishing, this tiny profile and subtle action look genuinely interesting for LRF and ultra-light lure fishing. Species worth targeting could include wrasse, gobies, blennies, scorpion fish, small pollack, pouting and other mini species, plus potentially opportunistic bass feeding on very small prey, particularly around harbours, rock marks, piers, marina walls and rough-ground edges.

Technical Insight

The buoyancy of the 10X Tough ElaZtech body becomes especially useful when rigged on a weighted hook or jighead - the weight holds the rig down while the buoyant body stays lively rather than lying dead on the bottom. Rather than moulded legs, the hand-threaded silicone strands create a fine, quivering movement even with subtle rod tip work, which is particularly effective when fish are responding poorly to larger, aggressively worked lures.
