Sakuma 49 Strand Stainless Steel Wire is a wire trace material built from 49 individual stainless-steel strands arranged in a 7 × 7 configuration, giving it a combination of high breaking strain and real flexibility.

Unlike a single-strand wire, which can be stiff and prone to permanent kinking, this multi-strand build stays supple and easy to work into rigs. It's supplied in 10m lengths and comes complete with 10 crimps, giving you everything needed to put together secure crimped traces without sourcing extra components.

The range covers three breaking strains — 80lb, 100lb and 130lb — so you can match the wire to the species and tackle you're using. Being stainless steel, it's also corrosion resistant, making it a sensible choice for saltwater trace work.

Perfect For

This wire is aimed squarely at heavy-duty sea-fishing trace construction, with tope, conger and spurdog specifically identified as target species. Its toughness and bite resistance make it well suited to rigging for powerful, toothy or abrasive-mouthed fish where lighter traces would fail.
