Sakuma Supashock

Overview

Sakuma Supashock is a shock leader and rig body line built from a hi-tech co-polymer material designed for demanding sea-fishing applications. It's engineered around three core characteristics: super soft handling, super strong breaking strains, and a low diameter construction.

The soft co-polymer make-up means the line is genuinely easy to work with when tying leaders and building rigs, rather than fighting a stiff, unwieldy material at the water's edge. Combined with its heavier breaking strains, this gives anglers a leader material that holds up under the strain of shore casting without becoming a chore to knot or handle.

Supashock is supplied across a range of heavy breaking strains — 50lb, 60lb, 80lb and 100lb — to suit different leader and rig-building needs, with the 50lb, 60lb and 80lb versions on 100m spools and the 100lb version on an 80m spool.

Perfect For

As a sea-fishing shock leader, Supashock's primary job is to sit between the mainline and the terminal tackle when shore casting, absorbing the casting load that would otherwise hit the thinner mainline directly. This makes it particularly relevant for anglers casting heavier sea-fishing leads and baited rigs from the beach.

Its heavier breaking strains also make it well suited to constructing sea-fishing rig bodies, not just shock leaders — it's genuinely useful as rig body material for building up traces and rigs for shore and beach fishing.

Technical Insight

The hi-tech co-polymer construction is the key to Supashock's performance balance. Co-polymer materials are formulated to deliver strength at a lower diameter than standard monofilament, which is why Supashock can offer heavy breaking strains like 80lb and 100lb while still staying manageable and castable.
