Overview

The Kali Kunnan Samsara Shangrila TW91 4.23m is a surfcasting rod built as a three-piece continental blank using High Modulus Carbon with multidirectional/multiaxial carbon braiding. This construction is designed to minimise unwanted blank deformation during casting, so more of the angler's applied energy is transmitted through the rod rather than lost to flex.

Unlike a conventional three-piece rod with equal sections, the TW91 uses an asymmetric section design, with deliberately unequal section lengths intended to optimise the performance of each individual part of the blank for both casting and retrieval.

At just 544g with a slim 21mm butt diameter and a 100–250g casting rating, it's a rod built to deliver serious casting power without excessive weight in the hand.

This combination of lightweight titanium and premium ceramic inserts supports efficient line flow during casting while keeping weight off the blank.

The reel seat is a screw-type design built from fibre/graphite and metal, providing a secure mounting point, while the ergonomic Surf Grip terminal is intended to improve comfort, security and casting control under load.
