AKIOS Krave SX Beach & Estuary Rod14ft - 100-168g

Overview

The AKIOS Krave SX420 is a 14ft (4.20m) three-piece beach and estuary fishing rod built on a 24-ton carbon blank for sea anglers fishing over clean to mixed ground.

Its raw carbon-weave effect finish gives the blank a distinctive look, while metal-band-reinforced joints add strength at each of the three section connections. AKIOS pairs the carbon blank with SeaGuide components throughout, including gunsmoke-finish guides and a fixed SeaGuide graphite reel seat.

A shaped EVA rear casting grip provides secure handling, complemented by black whippings with orange detailing that round off the rod's finish.

Perfect For

The Krave SX420 suits anglers casting from beaches, estuaries and other shore marks over clean to mixed ground, rather than extreme rough-ground venues.

It's built to handle both overhead and off-the-ground casting techniques, giving flexibility depending on the mark and conditions. With compatibility for both fixed-spool and multiplier reels, and suitability for monofilament or braided lines, it works as a flexible shore fishing setup for anglers who want one rod to cover a range of sea angling situations.

Technical Insight

The fixed SeaGuide graphite reel seat keeps the reel position consistent cast after cast, trading the adjustability of a sliding seat for a simpler, dependable setup.

Reflective tip tape improves bite visibility when illuminated during night sessions, though it reflects external light rather than glowing independently. The three-piece design with metal-banded joints keeps the rod easy to transport in its supplied AKIOS velour rod bag, while still aiming to maintain stability through the sections during a cast.
