Breakaway Spinlink Clips

Overview

The Breakaway Spinlink Clips are compact quick-change links designed for attaching lures, leads, rigs and other terminal tackle. Manufactured from heat-treated stainless steel, they're built to give a secure connection from a very small, neat component.

They're essentially a smaller, lighter version of the well-known Breakaway Fastlink, created for situations where a full-size link would be unnecessary bulk. This makes the Spinlink (product code SL2) a handy addition to the tackle box for anglers who regularly change end tackle on the beach or from the boat.

Each pack contains 10 Spinlinks, with a 100-pack also available for anglers who get through plenty of rigs during a session.

Perfect For

Lure fishing is one of the Spinlink's main uses — the compact, rounded profile connects a lure without significantly interfering with its action, so you can swap between metal casting lures, spinners and other hard lures quickly during a session.

It isn't just for lure anglers though. The Spinlink is also suited to light shore and boat rigs, where it can be used for connecting sinkers, changing complete rigs, or creating quick-change snood connections.

It's described as strong enough for many standard beach-fishing rigs, making it a practical choice for general UK sea-fishing setups where a lighter, more streamlined link is preferred over a bulkier connection.

Technical Insight

The heat-treated stainless steel construction gives the Spinlink considerable strength for its size, which is why such a small component can still handle lures, leads and rigs reliably.

Unlike bulkier link designs with a conventional snap gate, the Spinlink has a smooth, compact profile that helps reduce the chance of catching loose line or debris during a cast or retrieve.

A swivel can also be incorporated into the connection if required, giving rig builders the flexibility to add anti-twist protection only where it's actually needed rather than buying a clip with a permanently fixed swivel.
