Gemini Rig Clips

Overview

Gemini Genie Rig Clips are compact stainless-steel terminal tackle components designed for sea-fishing rig building, combining a quick-change lead link with an integrated bait clip in a single component.

The sinker attaches directly to the bottom of the clip, while the baited hook clips onto the projecting bait clip section. This positions the bait close to the weight during the cast, helping to create a more streamlined terminal rig.

Each pack contains 15 clips under Gemini product code G3001, manufactured in the UK from stainless steel that offers good resistance to corrosion in the marine environment.

Perfect For

Gemini Rig Clips are particularly useful for constructing clipped-down shore rigs, where the hook and bait are held close to the lead and rig body rather than trailing freely during the cast.

They are also well suited to pulley rigs, where the clip provides both the lead attachment and baited-hook clipping point at the bottom of the system, and to Up & Over rigs, where the standard clip can be fitted upside down at the top of the rig to allow a longer hooklength.

The clips can additionally form part of multi-hook clipped-rig systems, such as 2-hook and 3-hook distance shore rigs, and can even be adapted as a simple rotten-bottom link, though this configuration is not recommended for pendulum-style casting.

Technical Insight

The defining feature of the Gemini Rig Clip is its dual-purpose construction, performing the job of both a separate lead link and a separate bait clip in one component. This reduces the number of separate items required at the business end of the rig and keeps the terminal setup relatively simple.

The quick-change lead connection means anglers can swap lead weights or lead styles, such as switching from a plain lead to a grip lead, without cutting and retying the rig, making it easy to adapt to changing tide, current, ground and casting distance.

By holding the baited hook close to the lead during flight, the clip helps the complete terminal rig form a more compact package in the air, reducing aerodynamic drag, uncontrolled movement, snood tangles and bait damage compared with an unclipped hook trailing freely.
