Gemini Swivel 'n' Link Clips

Overview

The Gemini Genie Swivel 'n' Link Clips are a sea fishing terminal tackle connector that combine Gemini's standard Genie Link Clip with an 80lb Mainline Swivel fixed directly into the eye. This gives anglers two functions in one compact stainless steel component: swivel rotation plus a quick-change link.

Rather than tying a separate swivel and then adding another connector, the swivel is permanently incorporated into the eye of the Link Clip. This makes the assembly neater and reduces the number of separate components needed within a rig.

Gemini's manufacturer code for this item is G3002/3, and it's supplied in packs of 5. The fitted swivel is manufacturer-rated at 80lb, approximately 36.3kg, putting it in the same strength class as Gemini's separate 80lb Mainline Swivels.

Perfect For

This component is especially useful for connecting a sea-fishing rig to a shock leader. The swivel is tied permanently to the end of the leader, and the rig can then be clipped on and off the Link Clip, giving a convenient quick-change connection without sacrificing the swivel.

It also works well for attaching a sinker to a rig, allowing quick lead changes between plain leads, grip leads and different weights as tide, weather or seabed conditions change during a session. It's a practical top-of-rig connector for flapper rigs, clipped-down rigs, pulley rigs, pulley pennels, single-hook rigs, scratching rigs and match rigs, where both swivel rotation and quick rig removal are useful.

Used at the end of a shock leader, this design makes changing complete rigs very easy — for example switching between a 2-hook flapper, a pulley rig and a 3-hook clipped rig — without needing to cut the leader and retie the terminal connection every time. The stainless steel construction provides corrosion resistance for marine use while keeping the component relatively compact.
