Saltwater Pro Black Mackerel Feathers6 hook - Size 1/0

Overview

Overview

The Saltwater Pro 6 Hook Black Mackerel Feathers is a ready-tied saltwater feather rig designed for presenting multiple artificial lures to feeding sea fish. Supplied by Dennett Outdoor, the rig features six black feather-dressed hooks mounted along a single pre-tied line, giving anglers a traditional mackerel feather presentation without any assembly required.

The black dressing offers a contrasting alternative to the white or brightly coloured feathers more commonly seen on tackle shop shelves, giving anglers another option when fish are proving selective. As a pre-tied rig, it's built for convenience, ready to clip straight onto a trace and fish.

Perfect For

This rig is suited to boat fishing, suitable pier marks and appropriate shore marks where anglers are targeting mackerel and other predatory sea fish. It can be worked vertically from a boat or pier, or retrieved from the shore using correctly rated tackle.

Anglers who like to experiment with different retrieval speeds and lift-and-drop movements will find the six-hook layout gives plenty of scope to animate the feathers and trigger a response from feeding shoals.

Technical Insight

The six dressed hooks allow several artificial lures to be presented in the water column at once, mimicking a small shoal of baitfish as the rig is retrieved or worked vertically. The black feather dressing creates a different silhouette to standard white or mixed-colour feathers, giving anglers a genuine alternative presentation to try when mackerel are being fussy.

Because the rig is ready-tied, there's no need to tie individual hook snoods or feather droppers before fishing — simply attach it to your trace and start fishing, then swap in a different colour rig from your tackle box if the fish want something else.
