anyfish anywhere 13’ Four&Bait mk2 fixed spool

Overview

The Anyfish Anywhere Four&Bait MK2 13ft Fixed Spool is a lightweight shore rod from the Blue Series, built for anglers wanting to step away from heavy conventional beachcasting tackle. Carrying the exact supplier code AN-4B13FS (GAC house code AA0038), this 2-piece carbon rod measures 13ft (approx. 3.96m) and weighs just 570g.

It carries a manufacturer casting rating of 100–125g and is fitted with Fuji BCMSVOG guides, the fixed-spool-specific guide set used across the current Four&Bait MK2 range. The rod features a sliding/adjustable reel fitting and a soft, sensitive tip character, as noted by retailer descriptions.

Anyfish Anywhere developed the Four&Bait as a lighter counterpart to their Six&Bait rod, purpose-built around lighter leads, lighter lines and close-range presentations rather than simply being a scaled-down heavy beachcaster.

Perfect For

This rod is specifically designed for light beach and estuary fishing over sand, mud and other cleaner ground. Anyfish Anywhere highlights it as particularly well suited to close-range bait fishing in estuaries and on gentler coastline, including shingle and clean beach marks with rolling surf.

It has become popular for light braid fishing paired with smaller fixed-spool reels and lighter leads, making it a strong option for anglers moving towards more modern, lighter shore setups. GAC also describes it as light enough to be hand-held as a bass rod, with a soft tip suited to softer and larger baits fished at shorter range, including bass fishing in the surf. It is not intended for heavy 30lb straight-through rough-ground hauling.

Technical Insight

The 100–125g casting rating and 570g overall weight reflect the rod's focus on sensitivity and manageability rather than maximum casting distance with heavy leads. This lighter build allows the rod to be comfortably hand-held, improving bite detection and control during close-range estuary and surf fishing.

The Fuji BCMSVOG guide set is matched specifically to the fixed-spool configuration, distinguishing AN-4B13FS from the multiplier version which uses Fuji BCMNOG guides. Combined with the carbon blank and soft tip, this makes the rod a genuinely different proposition from a traditional heavy beachcaster, prioritising finesse and sensitivity for lighter rigs and lines.
