Overview

Gemini Genie 1mm Silicone is a soft, flexible silicone rig tubing designed for sea-fishing rig construction. It is the smallest size in Gemini's current silicone tubing range, sitting alongside the separate 1.5mm and 2mm options.

Supplied in a 1-metre length, the tubing is soft and flexible rather than a hard plastic fitting, which allows short sections to grip and flex around rig components. Because it's sold as a continuous metre rather than pre-cut pieces, anglers can cut sections to whatever length suits the job at hand.

Gemini keeps its silicone, PVC and neoprene tubing as distinct rig-building materials, so this 1mm silicone shouldn't be confused with Gemini's PVC or neoprene tubing products.

Perfect For

The fine 1mm size makes this tubing particularly suited to the finer end of rig construction, where a small, flexible piece is needed for stops and other light rig components rather than bulkier sleeves.

A short section can be used to create a movable stop on a hooklength or snood, gripping the line while still allowing repositioning under sufficient pressure — useful in custom rig building where an angler doesn't want to fix a component permanently with a crimp.

It's also a practical option as a small bait stop, positioned above a baited hook to help stop soft or bulky baits such as ragworm, lugworm, crab, squid strips or fish strips working too far up the snood.

Small sections can also be used alongside beads, small swivels and other light rig components as movable stops or spacers in fine rig arrangements.
