Amnesia Memory Free Monofilament in Clear is a low-memory solid monofilament line built primarily as a hook snood, trace and leader material for UK sea fishing. It is genuine Sunset Amnesia, made in the USA, and is not fluorocarbon.

Its defining trait is very low memory: if the line becomes coiled or twisted on the spool, simply untwisting it and giving it a firm stretch helps it return to a clean, straight presentation. This is a major advantage over ordinary mainline cut into snoods, which tends to retain unwanted coils.

Alongside low memory, Amnesia Clear offers good knot strength (including when wet), tangle resistance, and good abrasion resistance, making it a dependable choice for building durable sea-fishing rigs.

Amnesia Clear suits a wide range of shore rig styles, including flapper rigs, clipped rigs, pulley rigs, Pulley Pennel rigs, paternosters, flatfish rigs, bass traces and scratching rigs.

It's equally at home on the boat, where it can be used for paternosters, flowing traces, general hooklengths and heavier mono traces. The lighter breaking strains (6-15lb) suit light snood work, scratching and smaller species, while 20-30lb covers general shore snoods, and 40-60lb moves into heavier snood, leader and rig-body territory, subject to appropriate sinker weight and casting style.
