anyfish anywhere 13’ Six&Bait mk2 fixed spool

Overview

The Anyfish Anywhere Six&Bait MK2 13ft Fixed Spool is a two-piece beachcaster rod engineered for anglers who want a dedicated fixed-spool shore rod capable of handling heavier baited rigs.

This AN-6B13FS model measures 13ft (approx. 3.96m) in length, split across two equal carbon sections, and carries a casting rating of 150–175g. It has a published weight of 820g, putting it firmly in the category of a robust, all-round beach fishing rod.

The carbon blank is paired with Fuji BCMSVOG guides and a sliding reel seat, allowing the angler to adjust reel positioning along the butt to suit their own casting style and comfort preferences.

Perfect For

This rod is best suited to general bait fishing and mixed-ground beach fishing rather than light estuary or specialised lure work. Retailer-published fishing examples include substantial Pennell rigs baited with crab and mussel for cod, as well as clipped three-hook rigs for whiting and dabs from the open beach.

With its 150–175g casting rating and fixed-spool configuration, it's a practical choice for anglers wanting one rod to cover a variety of UK shore conditions and species without needing a highly specialised setup.

Technical Insight

The blank is described by retailers as having a progressive, parabolic-powered butt that blends into a powerful mid-section, allowing the rod to load up smoothly through the cast rather than stacking power abruptly at one point. This progressive loading character helps deliver heavier baits and rigs with control, while the tip is designed to remain functional in stronger tidal conditions without sacrificing bite sensitivity.

The Fuji BCMSVOG guide set is specific to this fixed-spool version of the Six&Bait MK2 range (the multiplier variant, AN-6B13M, uses a different guide configuration), so anglers can be confident the guide train is matched to fixed-spool line management. The sliding reel seat adds a further layer of practical adjustability, letting the reel be positioned to balance the rod for the individual angler.
