Overview

Rovex 10X High Abrasion Monofilament is a tough nylon mainline built for demanding sea-fishing sessions where strength and abrasion resistance matter most. Manufactured using Rovex's polymer bonding formula, this monofilament combines high tensile strength, excellent knot strength, a smooth finish and consistent diameter throughout the spool.

Rovex states that 10X delivers up to 10 times the abrasion resistance of standard nylon, making it a serious option for anglers who regularly find their line scraping against rock, reef and mixed ground. This Yellow version is supplied on an economical ¼kg bulk spool, giving plenty of line for respooling after a tough session without paying for pre-spun reels of line.

It's worth noting that although this line is sometimes referred to as a "2000m spool", the ¼kg bulk spool is actually weight-filled rather than a fixed length, so the true metreage varies with diameter – 2,211m for the 19lb/0.35mm option and 1,694m for the 24lb/0.40mm option.

Perfect For

Rovex 10X Yellow mono is particularly well suited to shore fishing around rocky ground, reefs and rougher beaches, where abrasion resistance takes priority over ultra-fine diameter casting performance. The 19lb/0.35mm option is a good choice where casting distance and line capacity still matter, while retaining the toughness of the 10X formula.

The 24lb/0.40mm option is better suited to heavier mainline duties on rougher ground, bigger fish, or situations where raw strength and abrasion resistance are more important than maximum casting distance. Because it's rated for both fixed-spool and multiplier reels, anglers can pair this line with either setup for harsh-venue sea fishing.

Technical Insight

The bright Solid Yellow finish gives excellent above-water visibility, useful for tracking the direction of your line, spotting where multiple anglers' lines are running on a busy mark, and watching your mainline in low light. This isn't a line designed to disappear underwater – that's not the intended benefit of this bright finish.

Supplied as a ¼kg bulk spool rather than a fixed-length spool, 10X offers an economical way to replace damaged mainline regularly, which matters most for anglers fishing harsh venues where line abrasion is a constant issue.
